Joanne Bays, Farm to Cafeteria’s National Director, hit the ground running in with her first interview of 2020 with the National Post on the subject of a national school food program. When asked about her position on the story, she said:
The main message was actually thus:
“F2CC has through evaluation, determined a good list of basic ingredients for a national program in Canada, but we do not yet have the recipe for success”.
The key recommendations to federal policymakers are thus:
“Continue to reach out to multiple key stakeholders to come to know the landscape of school food activity in this country and evidence about the impact of this activity”.
AND
“Continue to fund and evaluate promising practices with a view to developing Canada’s recipe for success.” – Joanne Bays, National Director, F2CC
