General Information
Albion Hills Community Farm (AHCF) is a living laboratory, learning centre and working farm that offers education programs, sixty-plot allotment garden, community gardens, 1.5-acre market garden/farm stand and field crops. AHCF is a not-for-profit organization (incorporated 2010) on TRCA lands in Albion Hills Conservation Area. We acknowledge the land on which we gather and operate on is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation which is traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Wendat.
AHCF’s education programs focus on sustainable market gardening/farming, eating local, pollinators bees, food waste/compost/soil health, chickens, hedgerows and eco-literacy. These programs are supported by our on-site facilities including: apiary, composters, chickens, monarch hatchery, multiple focused gardens (DSF Butterflyway native gardens, learning/teaching, medicine wheel, pollinator, perennials and experiential), hedgerow, food forest, allotment gardens, market gardens (including a 16,000-bulb garlic project) and field crops.
AHCF programs and offers events for youth, children and all ages. We hire youth. We offer program facilities for two adjacent Outdoor Education Centres. AHCF provides opportunity for all to engage in agriculture, food, conservation, and environmental sustainability while learning to build climate resiliency for the environmental and social challenges of our time.
