Now even more opportunities to apply

After a successful launch last year, we’re pleased to announce the Dig In Seed Grants, in partnership with The Schad Foundation, are returning for the 2024/25 school year and a new Ontario grant stream, nourish to flourish, in partnership with Sustain Ontario and Farm Boy, a leading Ontario food retailer, has newly launched this school year.

Together, Dig In and nourish to flourish will provide grants valued between $500 and $3,000 each to at least 60 schools across the country. K-12 schools in all 10 provinces* and 3 territories can apply for a Dig In grant, while the nourish to flourish grants are open to all K-12 schools in Ontario. Schools in Indigenous communities/nations and schools that serve a high-proportion of low-income, racialized or other equity-deserving communities are strongly encouraged to apply for these grants.

Both grant opportunities are designed to improve school food environments by increasing students’ access to healthy, local and culturally appropriate food while providing opportunities for hands-on learning and connections to the local food system. They are ideal for schools looking to get started on a farm or local food to school journey.

Applications for both grant streams are now open and will be accepted until October 21, 2024 at 11:59 pm (PST).

Informational webinars will be held on September 24th and 25th. Visit the respective grant pages to register for a webinar, learn more and apply.

*Ontario schools should apply through the nourish to flourish platform only. Applicants will be given an option to indicate they’d like to be considered for both grants.
