Plant a Seed and See What Grows Foundation Grant, 2024
The total students we have attending our school is 174, and grades taught are K – 8. We have a very diverse community, with many newcomer families attending our school. Our region – Winnipeg generally has hot humid summers and very cold winters. Students learned the difference between growing crops in our Canadian climates, compared to back in their home country.

The key features of our project were ensuring students who participated through the class garden club during lunch hour and/or outside in the courtyard could have hands-on learning, responsibility, environmental awareness, and personal growth opportunities as well as exposure to choices that contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
